Finally, finally, finally.  We love our Maine winters but this one in particular was pretty cold and snowy, so we're really ready for spring.  I saw two robins over the weekend so I guess it's official--spring is here.  We're getting ready for rental season and fielding lots of inquiries from folks who want to vacation in the Pine Tree State.

Happily, the turkeys are back in full force--we fed them corn during the winter but never really saw them in person, just their tracks.  It's now mating season so you can hear the gobbling in the woods and watch the males parade around all fluffed out and proud.  We were also really pleased to see some deer and moose tracks; we're glad that they survived the rough winter.

Spring also means a lot of yard cleanup, de-winterizing, and freshening up to do.  Looks like our weekends will be full of projects for the next month or so.   The river looks wonderful and we can't wait until the end of May for our annual contest to see who will swim first...although I'm pretty sure that one of the dogs will win.
